Im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen Cryo-Röhrchen im Cryo Rack besteht der Vorteil des SBS-Formats vor allem in der gegebenen Automationsfähigkeit. Mit dem SBS Rack ist eine etwaige Umstellung auf automatische Probenverteiler problemlos möglich. Ein Vorteil des Außengewindes: Je nach Anwendung können die Risiken einer Querkontamination verringert werden.
